To take advantage of this lasts, is the Italian Coast Guard who has chosen the company leaded by Maurizio Minghelli for the supply of 16 portable infrared thermal cameras for its patrol boat class 300 engaged in SAR operations and border surveillance in areas particularly affected by migratory flows.
A.ST.I.M. has been awarded in an European tender, issued by the Italian Coast Guard, to supply innovative FLIR binocular devices for night thermal observation activities with a medium distance discovery capabilities that will help the crews of coast guard Headquarters to increase the discovery ability during the surveillance of operation’s areas.
Indeed, it deals about thermal cameras that guarantee high-definition images in any atmospheric conditions, day and night, resisting to thermal, moisture and salinity excursions, as well as shocks and vibrations: an important benefit in operations of Search and Rescue. As requested by the tender, these devices give also the possibility to storage the search data permitting in this way to the Coast Guard to set up a video archive of operations to classify study and plan their operational activities.
The relationship between A.ST.I.M. and the Italian Coast Guard has been going on for several years: in fact, in the recent months, the company had delivered to them its naval mission systems for maritime emergencies, while a similar supply of infrared observation devices was dated 2015, today again they was selected by the Corps for their offshore means.
