A.ST.I.M. at the event “C2 Systems Study Days”

From 15 to 17 October, A.ST.I.M. participated in the “C2 Systems Study Days“, promoted by the General Staff of the Army, held in Rome at the Unified Circle of the Army “PIO IX”. The event, which is part of the Armed Forces‘ ongoing commitment to technological innovation, considered essential for facing new challenges, aimed to facilitate the comparison and analysis of the C2 theme with civil/military industrial components and academia, and to promote the concept of “Multi-domain Tactical Bubble”.

The event was divided into 6 thematic panels and 1 international round table. ASTIM has been invited to participate in three panels: Panel 3,4,5. In particular, Panels 3 and 4 concerned the architecture and interoperability of command and control systems. The aim was to accelerate the integration of legacy systems and assess the impact of new software on C2 architecture, cross-domain solutions and operations. At the same time, it was also possible to observe the interoperability capabilities of the different C2 systems, for the occasion exposed, in order to generate a Inter-forces Common Operational Picture.

In this context, ASTIM also operated by “inserting” a simulator of the Tactical Mission System – TALON® – chosen by the San Marco Marine Brigade as C2 of the new Amphibious Armoured Vehicle (VBA). The focus of Panel 5 was on the use of Artificial Intelligence in command and control systems within which ASTIM has been working for a long time “training” its algorithm also in the field. The occasion was therefore useful for presenting its developments and discussing them with the various stakeholders present.
