A.ST.I.M.’S SYSTEMS EMPLOYED FOR ROBOTICS STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GENOA

The University has commissioned a laser sensor to support the studies of its Informatics Department, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering

The A.ST.I.M’s Research and Development activities are not limited to his laboratories at the headquarter of Ravenna, but they are employed also within some Italian universities, of which the company is a technical partner.

This is the case of the University of Genoa that a few weeks ago has commissioned to A.ST.I.M. a laser sensor to support the studies of its Informatics Department, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering. The device delivered to Genoa is already in use to analyze, with a high precision, the range of vision up to 270 ° of amplitude, using a wavelength range equal to 870 nm to calculate the distance between the objects and their precise spatial coordinates, to provide, in this way, useful information that will be then transferred to other networked devices.

The Genoa University is in addition, as well as those of Polytechnic of Marche, University of Catania, Palermo, Trieste and Udine, which have already a long collaboration with A.ST.I.M team, making so even more concrete the collaboration between companies and research centers, academics in particular, this in the future could be an opportunity to test the new equipment in release phase.
