EMERGENCIES IN AIRPORT: A.ST.I.M LAUNCHES THE OPERATORS TRAINING FOR THE USE OF THERMONAV® DEVS MK3 ARFF

Is underway in recent weeks and will end by the end of June in the airports of Venice and Naples, the training of the security staff of the top 10 Italian airports to use THERMONAV® DEVS MK3 ARFF Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting, the new system for the airport emergencies and post incident triage, supplied to the National Corps of Firemen at the behest of the Ministry of Interior.

The system has been installed both in the control rooms of the airports, both on board of vehicles, in order to allow driving in poor visibility situations or absolute darkness, representation of the situation awareness on satellite high-resolution mapping and connection with other means and control rooms that are involved in the intervention of emergency, using broadband digital data link with a transmission capacity of video streams from the control room to the vehicle, information sharing, operational scenarios and procedures, fully digitized and in real time.

The technical training (certified according to ISO 9001 – EA 37 standard,) with a total duration of two weeks, is conducted by qualified trainers A.ST.I.M. and, in addition to classroom sessions, also it provides practice in the field through the operational management of emergency situations of different type that will be simulated and which will be resolved by the same Fire Fighters, using the DEVS system.

Currently THERMONAV® DEVS MK3 ARFF is operating in the airports of Bergamo, Bologna, Catania, Milan Linate, Varese (Malpensa), Naples, Pisa, Rome (Ciampino), Turin (Caselle) and Venice, as well as those of Palermo and Rome Fiumicino.
